So, as you read in the last update, we have made it to the final round of a national competition through Maurices! Final round voting is underway, and we're holding the #5 slot. We were previously at #3 at one point but have dropped. We're asking from the way deep down bottom of our hearts. Please take 5 minutes everyday from now until December 15, to show The Kellys a little love. It's really easy to vote, and you can do it once a day per email address. Hello once again everyone! Much love and thanks to everyone who helped push us into the Top 10 and Round 2 of the Maurices Small Town Sound Search on Sonicbids.com! The contest is looking for the best in small town sounds, and we've made it into Round 2! In round two, the finalists were asked to record a song with the theme of "small town charm,"and last Sunday we put some finishing touches on an amazing little ditty we'll be submitting to Maurices very soon! Round 2 voting opens on December 1 and runs through the 15th, and you'll be able to hear the BRAND NEW song, and VOTE ONCE A DAY PER EMAIL ADDRESS to help us win this thing! Whoa... an update?!

Happy Summer everyone! It has been a busy one thus far for your unsung musical heroes The Kellys! We have had some amazing shows already, and are lining up the rest of summer and fall as we speak. A quick thanks goes out to Kevin and Jodie Golier, the masterminds behind FarmJammaLamma, Jacob and the gang at Lemon Grove and Doug and the Party on the Plaza crew for some killer shows already this summer!

And we would officially like to throw up a huge blogtastic welcome to our new guitarist, Nick Rossi. It has been a seemless transition into playing with Nick, and we have opened ourselves up to a world of audible possibilities! Come dig the new sound soon, and you might just hear some new original material already being worked on for the new album!

Also, the online release of our DVD, Channel, will be coming very soon and will be coupled with some FREE GIVEAWAYS!! Stay tuned for updated info on a Kellys trivia contest where you may be able to score yourself some swag or a free copy of the DVD!

So... this is the new year!

Ok, so we just couldn't pass up stealing this blog's title from Death Cab For Cutie. But regardless, happy new year! Yes, we know it's February, but things have been a little crazy around these parts. We hope you all had a wondrous holiday season, and are well on your way to prospering in OH10! :)

We've got all kinds of goodness FINALLY coming your way this year. We're finishing up the DVD this month, and you're absolutely going to love it. With the live orchestra performances, videos for two previously unreleased tracks, and a whole host of bonus features and menu fun, it will be a must-buy! We'll keep you posted on specifics!

Our own Youngstonian Democracy, Opus, will also be blasting forth this year! We've got a few more studio sessions to get under wraps, and the finishing touches will be applied following! So definitely stay tuned for more info on that too!

We've got some live show ideas in the mental crock pot as well, so as always, be sure to keep tabs all over the intrwebs!

For Christmas, we want the world. We want the whole world.

The Kellys are thankful for...

Well, many things. But especially you, our fans! There would be no purpose in doing this whole music creation thing if it were not for you! We love summer!

Even though the Ohio summer has been a bit lackluster to put it nicely, the good thing is things seem to be shifting! So if you just think of summer as running August-October you'll be able to handle it a little better! Summer is a time for outdoor shows and hitting the road for some much needed out-of-town rocking. So we thought we'd drop in on you all for a little update on our plans for the rest of summer! We've got two awesome shows lined up to round out August, and September is shaping up to be just as rad!
